Money Management Tutors and Instructors

Providing our clients with knowledge and information on how to manage their income empowers them so they can make healthy, positive choices in their lives.  We need volunteers to lead our Money Management Class for our clients. A weekly class is small, ranging from one to six students. The class itinerary is basic and reviews the concepts of a budget, needs versus wants, and methods and ideas for saving money and cutting costs. A scenario/story of Jane Doe is presented and discussed so that no student feels in the spotlight. Course materials are provided. Complete our volunteer form if you’re interested.

CYO Essay Contest Judges

The Annual Spring CYO Essay Contest is held in the months of March or April each year. We need judges to drink lots of coffee and read lots of essays from students throughout Dutchess County. Last year there were over 100 essays and we hope to have more this year. This is a one or two day commitment depending on the number of essays received. The specific days and times are yet to be determined. Complete our volunteer form if you’re interested.

CYO Art Contest Judges/Assistants

Assistants are needed for an Annual Spring CYO Art Contest held annually in April. Volunteers are needed to assist the CYO Coordinator in preparing for the show by setting up the artwork and labeling ribbons. We also needed judges for these beautiful works of art. It is a busy and fun event. The specific days and times are to be determined. Complete our volunteer form if you’re interested.

SNAP Outreach Assistant

Part of our job in outreach to those with nutrition needs here in our county, is visiting food pantries, senior centers and other locations to help educate the community on SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-formerly known as food stamps). We provide flyers with our contact information and explain the availability of this service and other CCCS-DC services available in our county. These opportunities are very flexible. Complete our volunteer form if you’re interested.

Front Desk Phone Coverage

The front office is the first point of contact for the outside community. It is our goal to answer each call with a human voice, instead of the answering machine. Some days may be slow, but others you just can’t answer the phone fast enough. The front office needs an individual with patience, discretion and a sense of humor. Complete our volunteer form if you’re interested.
